2013 UNDER ARMOUR ALL-AMERICA LACROSSE CLASSIC UNDERCLASS TRYOUT DATES SET
Baltimore, MD (April 17, 2013) Under Armour, Inc. (NYSE: UA) and Corrigan Sports Enterprises, Inc. announced today that the tryout dates for the 2013 Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic Underclass Tournament have been set. Players from the graduating classes of 2014-2016 are eligible to participate in the open tryouts.
The three-day Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic Underclass Tournament will take place July 5-7 at Towson University near Baltimore, MD. The weekend will include competing male and female regional teams from Baltimore, Long Island, Midwest, New England, New Jersey, Philadelphia, South, Upstate NY, Washington, D.C. and West.
Each player who registers for their respective regional tryout will receive an Under Armour Tech™ T, practice jersey and a year’s subscription to Inside Lacrosse magazine. The players chosen for their respective Underclass Elite-Star regional teams will also compete in custom Under Armour® uniforms and state-of-the-art cleats.
Athletes have the choice to try out for any region, however, the region that a player tries out for is the region they will represent if they are selected for the team.
New to the All-America Lacrosse event for 2013 is the introduction of the Underclass Uncommitted Games. Each year there are very talented players who are on the cusp of making the All-America Underclass teams, but are not selected. Aside from the 24 players chosen for each regional team, this year, 15 underclass uncommitted (to college) players will be invited from each of the graduating classes (2014, 2015, 2016) to compete and showcase themselves in front of scores of coaches during the Under Armour All-America Lacrosse weekend. The regional evaluators and coaches will select players for the Underclass Uncommitted Games after the final regional teams are picked and will face-off on July 6.
The Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic Underclass Tournament is held in conjunction with the Under Armour All-America Game on July 6. Only 88 of the nation’s top male and female high school seniors will be named Under Armour All-Americans, earning the sport’s most prestigious honor. Under Armour All-Americans are selected by a panel of lacrosse experts at Inside Lacrosse magazine. The year-long process includes input from college and high school coaches from across the country as well as nominations from the general public.
